Dear colleagues,

We cordially invite you to participate in the 26th Congress of the Nordic Association of Agricultural Science (NJF): Agriculture for the next 100 years, which will be held on 27 – 29 of June, 2018 at Aleksandras Stulginskis University in Kaunas, Lithuania.

The Congress is dedicated for presentation of the latest research results and exchange of ideas on new investigations or use of advanced research methods in various sectors of agriculture, biomedicine, technological and social sciences including interdisciplinary investigations in bio-economy, eco-systems, sustainable agriculture and rural development. The Congress program embraces a wide range of topical directions in agriculture and rural development including crop farming, soil management, animal breading and welfare, sustainable land and landscape management, food quality and safety, food chain management, environment protection, farm management, improvement of policy in agriculture, economic and social aspects of rural development, education and consulting in agriculture and rural development in as wide as possible understanding of these topical directions.

The Congress will serve as main event for celebration the 100th anniversary of the NJF (Nordic Association of Agricultural Science) – the oldest public organisation in Nordic countries, established in year 1918. Now in activities of NJF are participating about 4000 scientists and researchers representing eight Nordic and Baltic countries – Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and about 120 participants from the other countries around the world.

The Congress also will be as one of associate events for celebration the 100th anniversary of restoration of the Republic of Lithuania in 2018. Participants and the guests of the Congress will be invited to participate in subject tour to the Institute of Agriculture of the Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry in Dotnuva (Kedainiai district) and in cultural tours to Kaunas City, Old Vilnius and Trakai. We also welcome you to participate in the Congress Ceremonial Opening dinner at the first day of the congress and in the Gala dinner in the Birštonas on the second day of the congress.
